Situated in the heart of Oaxaca’s vibrant Centro district, Gozobi Restaurante Bar is a must-visit destination for those craving an authentic and elevated Mexican dining experience. This multifaceted gem artfully blends the rich flavors of traditional Oaxacan cuisine with a lively bar atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for breakfast, casual coffee breaks, or an evening of exquisite cocktails and local dishes.
From the moment you step into Gozobi, you are greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that perfectly complements its culinary offerings. The highlight is undoubtedly the stunning rooftop terrace that overlooks the bustling streets and rolling mountain vistas of Oaxaca. This open-air setting infuses every visit with a touch of magic, especially at sunset, when the city skyline glows warmly, and live music often fills the air, adding an uplifting soundtrack to your meal.
When it comes to the menu, Gozobi truly shines by showcasing Oaxaca’s culinary heritage with a contemporary twist. Standout dishes like the Tlayuda burst with bold, smoky flavors, while the Enfrijoladas Gozobi offer a comforting embrace of rich beans and melted cheese. For seafood lovers, the Quesadillas de Camarón provide a succulent and savory delight, complemented by the delicate balance of the Octopus dish. The creative Botana Oaxaqueña platter is perfect for sharing, inviting you to savor an array of regional tastes in one sitting.
Pair your meal with one of Gozobi’s inventive mezcal cocktails, such as the vibrant Mezcalita de Maracuyá, whose passion fruit sweetness plays beautifully against the smoky spirit. For coffee aficionados, the Capuchino con Jengibre offers a warmly spiced twist that's as comforting as it is invigorating. And don’t miss the decadent desserts — the Panna Cotta de Leche Quemada y Helado de Mezcal is a luxuriously smooth finale, blending smoky and creamy notes that leave a lasting impression.
Visitors consistently praise Gozobi for its unparalleled rooftop “terrasse” experience. Jonathan O. raves about the fantastic views paired with outstanding dishes like the shrimp salad with coconut dressing and the arrachera steak with hoja santa pesto. The energy of live weekend music seamlessly weaves into the ambiance, elevating the overall visit. While some have noted minor comfort considerations with seating, this is far outweighed by the attentive and friendly service that enhances every moment.
Whether you're starting your day with a thoughtfully brewed coffee, indulging in a leisurely lunch, or unwinding with expertly crafted cocktails, Gozobi Restaurante Bar delivers a sensory journey that reflects the heart and soul of Oaxaca. If you value great flavors paired with unbeatable views and a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere, this spot is sure to become a treasured favorite.

Excellent experience—excellent meal and fantastic rooftop view. The mezcalines (mezcal cocktails) are creative and tasty, the salad with shrimp and coconut dressing and the arrachera (skirt steak) with hoja santa (herbal leaf) pesto were outstanding. Live music, as well, on the weekend night we were there. Highly recommended!
Really nice rooftop terrasse with beautiful view over the city, perfect for sunset Live music and nice service Didn’t try the food but cocktails were great
Not rooftop. It’s call terrace ahh. So annoying. Good food. Good service and an unforgettable view. I want to come back. It’s not crowded for 4pm ish but crowds are coming in. Food is amazing. My friend ordered some decent dishes for snack and I had a coffee.
Beautiful rooftop, nice ambiente. Only the chairs are uncomfortable. We go tho have a drink there, with a beautiful view. Service is attentive and friendly.
Great place. Great view. Great food. This place has great views all around. Lots of activity down below on the streets, Mountain Views all around. Great cocktails. The only thing I didn’t like was an “old fashion” drink I ordered. Maybe just not their strength but other than that, plenty of seating with a view.
Great spot for drinks with an amazing view. Cocktails were delicious (pina and cilantro). Ordered the beef tacos as an appetiser and were also amazing. Full menu was a bit westernised for us so we went elsewhere for an authentic dinner, but highly recommended here for a drink & snack! Service friendly but slow as has been consistent across Mexico!
Loved the experience of this beautiful restaurant! Most importantly the service! David was our server, he was very nice and friendly! Drinks and vibes were immaculate
